This terrazzo Jayhawk design was constructed by the Constant Construction Company of Lawrence in 1946. The terrazzo floor had to be braced up from below to save the artwork during renovations in the late 1980s. Many a person walks around this stately Jayhawk, believing that treading upon it may bring bad luck. This Jayhawk is located on level 2 of the Kansas Union.
